BAMBOO VILLAGE / villager arts

In sync with the Bamboo Way, Bamboo Villagers are taught, and encouraged to develop their own, eco-ethical crafts, utilizing Big Island bamboo scraps, volcanic glass (gravel), tropical hardwood scraps, and any other blessings from the Aina (Land) that Péle may have to offer. These sacred art forms have stories to tell and gifts to share.

Proceeds from sales of these fine crafts support the Bamboo Villagers as we manifest ways toward self-sufficiency. A portion of all sales are donated to the non-profit to help Bamboo Village Hawaii grow and continue to prosper. We encourage you to support us by purchasing our fine hand-made crafts, and donating what you can. It is your contributions that make all the difference. For ordering or other information regarding Earthstone Pyroglyphs™ send mail to villagearts@bamboovillagehawaii.org.

1. Whale Spoons are sculpted and sanded out of tropical hardwood scraps, and column (culm) vessels from Bamboo scraps

2. Paddler Glyph: Symbolizes the Celebration of Life

3. Earthstone Pyroglyphs are formed utilizing volcanic glass (gravel).

4. Be a gecko on the wall and join us for a Pyroglyph torching session. Experience a taste of what its like to bring these powerful little medallions to life.

5. Torching the sand makes it molten, so our steel stamps can make their impressions.

6. A peek inside the glowing red-hot kiln

7. Glowing Turtle Glyph. The Turtle symbolizes the continuation of life

8. Sam and Sky, all torched out, after an intense Pyroglyph making session.
